It's a tough world that keeps getting tougher.
But that's why we chose this path, right? Nobody said it would be easy.
Anyways, yea, it's a tough road and I think we'll keep fighting, as long as NG still has oil in the machine then we can at least settle back on that.
The problem is that too many people are leaving, pursuing better things, forgetting where they came from. Newgrounds is no longer a respected name, it's a joke when I bring it up to animators and game developers, but they forget that this is actually where the money is - dedicated fans and dedicated community.
We just need to re-ignite that spark.
Which is why I'm going to get some stupid job not even related to games or even programming, and do it as a hobby.

It's your fifth anniversary soon and you already have a very bad gift, even before your anniversary and Christmas. That's freaking lame... I believe in what you're saying, that you're gonna be fine, that your wounds will heal, leaving badass scars that will make you remember that you had a hard time, but not hard enough to destroy your lives, because you'll have pulverized your difficulties. Your games are pretty good, and I'm glad that you're going to continue to make more of these. By the way, it's almost the holidays, so you're gonna have time to think about how you're gonna get through of your problems while enjoying a peaceful atmosphere. :)

Man we need to grab a drink some time, 2013 was the same over here at NG and I think pretty much EVERYWHERE, I think this year put most of the web under water. You guys got massive talent though so I have no doubt you'll find a good spot in whatever happens in 2014. We've got some features coming that will help you keep NG fans better informed of what you're working on and are still working on a better video ad solution for pre-roll. I just can't see a future that doesn't include web games, despite bumpy roads ahead with better adapting for mobile.

I remember when I was still in college, back in 2003, playing games on NG pretty much everyday, telling my roommate "It'll would be so awesome to get front paged on NG one day".
5 years later, Berzerk Studio was born.
NG was great part of the sparkle that made us want to make Flash games. We owe you, beer on us.
